Turkey Lottery Application Status

Attention 2025 Fall Turkey Shotgun Lottery Applicants

The 2025 Lottery 1 Fall Turkey Shotgun application period closes July 7, 2025.  To determine if you were successful in being issued a Lottery 1 Fall Turkey Shotgun permit, after July 18th, please follow the instructions below. 

  • Go to ExploreMoreILâ„¢ and click on the blue Log In To My Account button.
  • Navigate to your Customer Homepage.  Scroll down the page and select the Purchase History button.  
  • On the Purchase History page, if you were issued a 2025 Lottery 1 Fall Turkey Shotgun permit, you will see PRIV CODE 1600-25 - RESIDENT FALL TURKEY SHOTGUN 2025 PERMIT - LOTTERY 1.  Lottery 1 Fall Turkey Shotgun permits will be mailed to successful applicants in early August.  Unsuccessful applicants will receive a refund check from the Illinois Comptroller's Office.

Over-the-Counter Permits

Remaining county-specific Fall Turkey shogtun permits after the Lottery 2 drawing will be available for sale over the counter (OTC) from License Vendors beginning September 22, 2025, on a first-come, first-served basis.  Permits will be sold until quotas are exhausted, or until the close of the season October 26, 2025.  Persons may purchase one or more permits during this period, subject to availability, except that no one may exceed the limit of two permits in total, including landowner permits.

Special Hunt Area permits are only available during the lottery application process and are not sold OTC.
